Vice President Harris visits Pittsburgh to tout $5.8 billion for clean water, lead pipe removal

During a visit to the Steel City on Tuesday, Vice President Kamala Harris announced that the Biden administration is dedicating $5.8 billion of federal funding toward lead pipe removal and clean water projects, including more than $200 million in Pennsylvania.

Biden administration picks airports for nearly $1 billion in terminal upgrades

Four airports in Pennsylvania will receive funding: Philadelphia International Airport will receive $20.4 million to partially fund HVAC, electrical efficiency improvements to its terminal building. And as the Capital-Star reported Wednesday, Harrisburg International Airport will receive $7.5 million; Pittsburgh International Airport will receive $5.3 million; and Lancaster Airport will receive $2.7 million under the program.

Buttigieg was joined by Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato, and members of Pennsylvania’s Congressional delegation, including U.S. Sen. John Fetterman, and U.S. Reps. Chris Deluzio (D-17th District), and Summer Lee (D-12th District). “We wouldn’t be here today without the work of this delegation,” Buttigieg said.
