Steelers Lose Close Game to Cleveland Browns 13-10

The Pittsburgh Steelers narrowly fell to the Cleveland Browns by a score of 13-10. For a team in the midst of a playoff battle, it’s a tough loss at the hands of a division opponent, and marks a 1-1 season split between the two teams.

The Steelers pass offense, led by quarterback Kenny Pickett had yet another inefficient week. Pickett amassed just 106 throwing yards on 15 passes. All of the team’s offense came from the run game, which largely went through Jaylen Warren. In another strong performance, he rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown. In an exciting moment, the touchdown came on a 74 yard run that cut the team’s deficit to just three.

The defense, facing off against Browns rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson in just his second start, largely kept the Browns off the scoreboard. But limited offensive production was ultimately too much to overcome. The Browns, following a late three and out from the Steelers, drove into field goal range to make the game winning kick with just two seconds left.

This loss moves the Steelers to 6-4, and though the team is still firmly in the playoff hunt, the offensive production the last several weeks has raised serious questions about the team’s prospects going forward. They’ll look to rebound and find a spark as they continue their tour in Ohio with a road game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
