Recently, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released both national and state unemployment and jobs data from March. According to the national employment situation report, the national unemployment rate dropped from 3.6 percent in February to 3.5 percent in March.
Pennsylvania’s state unemployment rate in March was 4.2 percent, a 0.2 percent drop from February’s rate of 4.4 percent. According, the preliminary data, there was an increase of about 5,000 jobs across the state with some of the largest increases coming from the information, manufacturing, and government sectors.
