Long eliminated from bowl contention, the Pittsburgh Panthers suffered a 30-16 defeat at the hands of the Duke Blue Devils. The team finished their season 3-9 and will have a long winter and spring to regroup before getting another crack at things in fall 2024.
Nate Yarnell continued to play well in his second straight start, and is a welcome sign as he’s set to return next season. He ended the day with 265 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Unfortunately, the running game could not mirror the passing game, and the Panthers ended the day with just 43 rushing yards. While defensively, the team couldn’t keep the Blue Devils out of the end zone.
Panthers fans will have to wait until spring to see their team in action, and it won’t be until next fall that they’re playing competitive football again.
